Let me just say it: I feel the cold fast.

You’d think after a few Aussie winters, I’d toughen up. But no — the moment the breeze picks up, I’m layering like it’s subzero. And honestly? I’m okay with that.

That’s actually how The Yuzu Tote’s sweatshirts and hoodies began.

Autumn in Australia Hits Different

Autumn and winter here in Australia have a charm of their own — crisp mornings, golden light, and that perfect excuse to slow down a bit. But it also means one thing: it gets cold, especially if you’re not in full sunlight.

I wanted to create cotton layers that actually felt good. Not itchy. Not stiff. Just warm, cozy, heavyweight sweatshirts and hoodies that could take you from a coastal walk to a coffee run — and not make you want to rip them off by 3pm.

Timeless, But Not Boring

I couldn’t find designs that hit that sweet spot: timeless, but still modern. So I made my own.

Our pieces are made with 350–400 GSM cotton fleece — thick enough to keep you warm, soft enough to wear on repeat. I chose bold autumn-inspired tones (think olive, burgundy, hazy blue) because they’re rich, grounding, and they look good on everyone.

I kept the designs minimal because I wanted them to feel elevated, but also practical — pieces you actually reach for on busy mornings, not just something for the ‘gram.
